研究内容
視床と大脳皮質が構成するループ回路網は、注意、知覚、あるいは、意識の神経基盤であると考えられています。視床核に抑制投射する視床網様核は、視床核、あるいは、ループ回路の活動を制御し、注意、知覚を修飾します。このような視床網様核の神経細胞の解剖学的(分布、投射)、電気生理学的特性(感覚反応、バースト活動)を調べています。同種、異種感覚情報、あるいは、高次脳機能に関与する大脳皮質前頭前野の出力が、視床網様核の細胞に集約し、視床核細胞の感覚情報処理を制御することを示唆するこれまでの研究知見を踏まえ、視床網様核において、Bottom-upの感覚情報とTop-downの大脳皮質の出力がどのように干渉するか、また、視床網様核を介して、報酬系が注意、知覚を修飾する可能性を調べる実験を行っています。精神-神経疾患の背後にある注意、知覚の神経機構の問題の理解に貢献する研究知見を提供したいと思います。
